The D Foundation for Doing Good Work

The D Foundation is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Since its inception in 2009, it has positioned itself as a dynamic community-based foundation working on multiple fronts, utilizing the vast resources and experience of its directors and affiliate partners. The D Foundation has also worked with various international partners on human rights and community development programs. It has opened an art gallery (Sangdee Gallery) that showcases local and regional talent, as well as offers near daily activities such as concerts and talent contests together with photography, dance, film and many other workshops.

The D Foundation’s media partner, Citylife, has 19 years industry experience in multimedia. It publishes a monthly magazine, operates the north of Thailand’s highest hits English website, conducts marketing and public relations for local and international clients, and organizes events such as the 2009 Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter’s Mekong Build. With an energetic and experienced team, the foundation not only does good work (D is a play on the word for ‘good’ in Thai), but it infuses its activities and projects with creativity and vision, while understanding that the key to development or raising of awareness is in the full participation of the public.

Mekong Sub-region Social Research Center (MSSRC), Ubon Ratchatani University

The Mekong Sub-region Social Research Center at Ubon Ratchatani University in north-eastern Thailand facilitates and encourages research and learning about the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), especially by regional scholars. The centre is dedicated to forging links between academics, researchers and students from universities and organisations within the region and beyond. It also promotes sharing knowledge across the region through activities that bolster information dissemination.

Unit for Social and Environmental Research (USER), Chiang Mai University

The Unit for Social and Environmental Research is an interdisciplinary research organization based in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. It conducts and coordinates research on the relationships between human society and the environment that will make a contribution to improving ecological sustainability, human well-being and social justice in the Southeast Asia region.
